Everyone loves a good wordsearch puzzle and CapstoneKids.com offers a slew of them! Topics include volcanoes, electricity, folk tales, and much more. These puzzles work great on the SMART Board. Just drag your finger over the letters to highlight the word. Have fun!

Road to Grammar is a very helpful grammar and vocabulary website for ALL language learners (including ESL). Road to Grammar offers over 300 grammar quizzes, as well as lessons, games, and teacher/student downloads. The quizzes are in multiple choice format, and they all work great on the SMART Board! There is also a separate section for younger learners- Road to Grammar Junior. Check it out!

Tomorrow some of our 5th grade classes will be participating in a virtual field trip called “Exploring Mount Vernon” provided by Alabama Public Television. While trying to find companion sites, I ran across George Washington’s World for Kids. This is a neat site that offers three interactive games, as well as a memory and puzzle activity. Just in time for President’s Day, too!

This is a fun game to play on the SMART Board for Thanksgiving! The object is to find Pete, the turkey with the red bow tie. Have students compete against each other to see who has the best time. Have fun!
