While browsing Delicious, I ran across Tina Coffey’s Teaching with Technology blog where she shared the YouTube video People in Order (1-100). This is a neat video that shows people from ages 1-100 calling out their ages and beating a drum. Have the students count along!
100 Snowballs is a fun interactive from ABCya.com. Simply touch and drag the snowballs to create your own image, as long as you use 100 snowballs. If your class is reading 100 books, add a snowball as a way keep up with how many books the class has read.
Since the 100th Day of School is quickly approaching, I will dedicate the next few days to interactives related to this special day. The first interactive is from Oswego.org and is called Give the Dog a Bone. This game works great on the SMART Board! The object is to find 10 hidden bones on the 1-100 number square in less than a minute. Enjoy!
Happy Monday! Today I’d like to share StarrMatica.com. StarrMatica.com is a subscription-based website that offers interactive practice of math and reading concepts. However, there are a few freebies for all to enjoy, as well as a free trial option. Check out the 3-D Earth Exploration activity. Students must find and identify hidden shapes at a theme park after taking a ride to earth on a spaceship. This would be great for younger students learning shapes!
