Hello readers! I’m sorry I’ve left you for so long. Things are starting to calm down a little in our second month of school, so get ready for more Goodies! Let’s start with Estimate and Measure with Chef Pierre from Compass Learning Odyssey. This is a great activity for K-1. Estimate how many cinnamon rolls each pan will hold, then measure to see if you are correct!

It’s back to school for Mobile County Public Schools on Monday! Don’t forget to have a little fun on your SMART Board with the singing horses that I posted about in 2009.
Here are the famous singing horses. What a great activity to get students used to touching the SMART Board! This would also work if you are discussing Cause and Effect or just to have some fun on a Friday afternoon.

It’s almost that time again! Summer vacation is coming to a close, teachers are getting their rooms ready for their new students, and first day of school activities are being planned. I have found a few good interactives that are ready and waiting for you to use your first day of school from the trusty TES iboard site. Check out Pictogram: How I get to School as well as a few others under the Geography section. Enjoy!

You may or may not have heard (*snicker*) that Prince William and Kate Middleton were married today (or early this morning my time)! I’m even wearing my own Royal Hat, Alabama-style! I’m sure many teachers across the world are using this as an opportunity to teach their students about the Royal Family. I’ve found a nice “family tree” interactive that help may help. Just mouse over, or touch, each leaf to see more details. Here is another family tree, and you might also want to try this interactive quiz.
